The Matter of Trust (2020)
This exhibition was set at University of Lapland 27.1.–13.2.2020. Now it's placed at Rockravintola Grande, Rovaniemi.
This exhibition is about trust and the subject is approached by Japanese shibari rope bondage. Even though in BDSM culture bondage is associated with subordination and power relationships, bondage can also provide a creative and meditative experience. Being bounded requires the courage to surrender to the grace of another and to show your own fragility. Bondage involves close contact with another person, so the role of open interaction and communication is significant. Therefore, bondage is not directly related to sex, it’s also about the matter of respect and trust between two people. That also gives name for the exhibition, The Matter of Trust.
Production is executed in autumn 2019. Model is Passio Flora and shibari is made by Carlo Palermo.
